Since first posting this, the greens have sprouted and are anxiously seeking light. Watering has not been a problem - quite the opposite: I&#039;m actually wondering if the roots will get enough air, as the runoff water sits in the bottom of the jar much longer than I expected. Might call for a quick fix, such as an &quot;air vent&quot; forced through the paper rimming the top.

As always, I&#039;m impatient for lusher greenery, particularly since these pups are so visible in my living area. Someday soon I&#039;ll pop in some more established plants and enjoy a brief flirtation with Martha-Stewart-style, capital-L &quot;Living&quot;.</description>
